Running tights women

A good pair of women's running tights is characterized by breathable materials, high comfort, and a form-fitting silhouette. In addition to the material, the cut and outside temperatures also play an important role. For year-round training, a combination of light shorts for warm days and long tights for cooler conditions is recommended.

Washing: 30–40 °C, delicate cycle, laundry bag recommended

Avoid fabric softener: Reduces moisture-wicking function

Do not tumble dry: Heat damages elastane and functional fibers

Dry flat or hang dry: Not in direct sunlight

The best material for women's running pants is a combination of polyester or polyamide with elastane. This blend offers:

• Moisture-wicking: Sweat is quickly drawn away from the skin
• Elasticity: High freedom of movement without restriction
• Durability: Resistant to frequent washing

Cotton should be avoided in running pants – it absorbs moisture and stays wet against the body, which can lead to irritation.

The right length primarily depends on the temperatures and your personal sensitivity to cold:

• Short running shorts: Ideal for warm conditions from around 15–20 °C and above. They offer maximum freedom of movement and optimal ventilation (Phantom or Spectra Shorts/Half Tights/Short Tights)
• Long tights: The preferred choice for temperatures below 10 °C. Depending on the model, they also protect against wind and help keep muscles warm (Phantom or Spectra)

As a guideline: Many runners switch from long tights to shorts at temperatures around 15 °C. However, the optimal choice always depends on individual comfort, training intensity, and weather conditions.

Chafing occurs mainly with loose pants due to friction on the inner thigh. Tight tights significantly reduce this problem because they fit snugly against the body and prevent friction between fabric and skin. Additionally helpful:

• Seamless or flat-seamed models
• Moisture-wicking material
• If needed: anti-chafing cream on particularly stressed areas

Yes. Many of our women's running tights have either:

• Side pockets (left and right) for gels, keys, or loose change
• Inner pockets above the buttocks for small items
• Zippered pockets for secure storage

When buying, it's worth paying attention to the pocket size – especially if you want to take your smartphone with you while running, as not every pair of pants offers enough storage space.

For winter running, women need tights with:

• Wind protection function (often referred to as "Windstopper" or "Softshell")
• Thermal material (lightly brushed or fleeced on the inside)
• Reflective elements for visibility in the dark
• Water-repellent surface for rain
