Men's Cycling Jersey: What Matters

Cut

A men's cycling jersey should fit closely without feeling restrictive. When riding in the drops, there should be no excess fabric at the chest or stomach, as it can flap in the wind and cause chafing. Race cuts offer a particularly close, aerodynamic fit, while all-road and gravel models allow for slightly greater freedom of movement.

Material

High-quality, breathable fabrics quickly wick sweat away from the skin, dry rapidly and regulate body temperature. We use premium Italian fabrics, and professionally finished flat seams prevent chafing even on long rides.

Pockets

Three back pockets are standard and provide space for energy bars, a pump and a smartphone. It is important that the pockets retain their shape even when full and do not sag. An additional zippered pocket keeps keys and valuables secure.

Sleeve cuffs

The sleeve cuffs should lie flat without digging in. Laser-cut or elasticated cuffs keep the jersey in place and reduce drag.

Temperature

Lightweight mesh jerseys are ideal in hot weather, while a classic short-sleeved jersey is best for temperatures between 15 and 22°C, with a men's cycling vest for descents. Below 15°C, a long-sleeved jersey or a combination of a short-sleeved jersey and arm warmers is recommended. A men's cycling vest can also be useful in cooler weather.

Size

Refer to the size chart. As race cuts fit more closely than all-road models, it is worth checking the fit guide for each range.

The right men's cycling jersey for every ride

Men's road cycling jersey: A men's road cycling jersey fits closely, has an aerodynamic cut, and is designed for high speeds. Smooth fabric surfaces and a close-fitting cut reduce air resistance.

Men's cycling jersey for touring: For long tours, comfort, breathability, and storage space matter. A men's cycling jersey with slightly more freedom of movement and sturdy back pockets will reliably accompany you for many hours.

Men's gravel jersey: A men's gravel jersey is more robust, cut slightly looser, and offers additional storage space, ideal for changing terrain and bikepacking.

Men's long-sleeve cycling jersey: A men's long-sleeve cycling jersey protects against wind and cool weather in spring and autumn and can be flexibly combined with a base layer.

Men's cycling jersey in white and black: A white men's cycling jersey reflects sunlight and stays cooler on hot days. A black men's cycling jersey has a timeless look and can be combined with any men's cycling shorts. Both classics are available in several lines.

FAQ

  • A cycling jersey should fit closely but not restrict movement. When in the riding position, there should be no wrinkles across the chest and stomach to prevent flapping or chafing.

  • A breathable baselayer is recommended under the cycling jersey. It improves moisture management and temperature regulation, keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter.

  • Men's short-sleeve cycling jerseys are suitable from around 15°C. Below that, a men's long-sleeve cycling jersey protects against wind and cold. During the transitional season, a short-sleeve jersey and arm warmers are a flexible alternative.

  • Measure your chest and waist circumference and compare the measurements with the size chart. If you are between two sizes, choose the smaller size for race cuts and the larger size for all-round models.

  • Wash your cycling jersey inside out on a gentle cycle at a maximum of 30°C. Do not use fabric softener, as it destroys the moisture-wicking properties of the fibers.

  • A road cycling jersey has a tight, aerodynamic fit and is designed for speed. A gravel jersey is more durable, has a looser fit, and offers more comfort and storage for long rides on mixed terrain.
